About

Bri Christensen

Bri Christensen is a multidisciplinary artist working across many mediums such as fiber, metal, leather, and found materials. Her work includes sewing and free-motion embroidery, silver embossing, leatherwork, jewelry making, and ongoing experimentation across anything that piques her interest. Rooted in a lifelong dedication to thrifting and scavenging yard sales and estate sales for household items, clothing and anything weird.. Bri began reselling vintage clothes online in 2019. She eventually expanded into local vintage market pop-ups in Portland, Oregon.

Over time, her interest evolved beyond resale. Vintage pieces became canvases for patchwork, texture, and intentional design. Bri’s work prioritizes sustainability, the handmade process of trial and error, and individual creativity, with each piece carrying visible traces of care, labor, and intention.

Creation, for Bri, is all-encompassing. Some call it hobby hoarding; she calls it childlike whimsy. She refuses to limit herself, moving between mediums, allowing curiosity and life happenings to guide her projects. Sometimes experimenting with scraps found at a second-hand art store, sometimes in banging metal through leather in her basement, sometimes with buttercream and flour in the kitchen. This website exists as a dedicated online space for that freedom: a place to share work, to experiment, and to offer projects meant to be rehomed. Each piece is a small relic, a site of memory, a trace of every version of her that has come and gone.

Bri grew up in North Highlands, California, and relocated to Oregon in 2018. Shortly after, while attending college, she became the guardian of her two younger sisters. Today, Bri continues raising her youngest sister while pursuing a Master of Social Work at Portland State University and working with youth through therapeutic direct care. Making and selling art is both an act of self-expression, a means of survival in adversity, and a side hustle supporting her inevitable dedication to the grindset (and the glorious future that lies ahead).
